S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y Night!

ETA: Here’s a website I found that explains the directions for Pounce.

How to play Pounce.

Pounce!

This is what we did two Saturday nights ago with Marti & Lewis. We did it again last Saturday night with my sister and brother-in-law.

This Saturday night we’re having my sister-in-law & family over & now I’m starting to wonder if they like to play card games.

We’ve been playing this game for more than 10 years now. Anyone else play it? We LOVE it. We used to play other games – even other card games – but after we started to play Pounce we never stop playing it for very long. It’s just that good.

If you like card games & you’re of the competitive sort, you should really play Pounce.  It’s incredibly fast-paced and F-U-N.

Marti and I have made plans for our families for next weekend… and I’m already thinking about playing this game with them. Not only are we competitive – but we’re also reallllly funny.

(the alcohol may have something to do with that, but that’s just a guess)

I’ll take a look at it. Right now, we mostly play either SkipBo or Combat Uno.

I think you should be scrapping instead of playing card games…I’m three layouts ahead of you already!

I love it too! We *have* been at this for 10 years now, haven’t we? Oh my… I think Marti still has a scar on her hand from a vigorous night o’ Pounce at your house, some 10 years ago. If you think about it, it’s kinda funny how the kids have grown from being the babies that slept/played in carriers next to the table, or slept in swings that we had to interrupt play to go and wind up, and grown into the kids we now shoo away from the table and who ask us how to play. Not nearly a full circle until we teach them how to play and they’re playing their own games.

I found this link to Pounce online, but it seems to differ a bit from the way we play.

This one’s more like it, except they do 12 in their pounce pile.
They even have video of them playing! Damn innovators!!

BTW, I think Chris, Jen & Marti need to start with 12 in their Pounce pile. I remember reading somewhere that the LOWEST score at the end wins…
