I left for work this morning at 8:05am & had to hurry because I had to attend at 8:30am meeting. I put my key in the ignition and NOTHING except a click, click, click. I call upstairs (why walk when you have a cell?) and inform the husband that I was taking the other car to work. He says, “There’s no gas in the car. You might have enough gas to get you to work.” Might? Grrr… So I stop and get a few gallons of gas. I call my boss and let him know that I might be a bit late.
Skylar was invited to a birthday party today. They’re going to swim all day long. The Mom also invited Skylar to go with them to the Pirate’s Dinner Theater. The birthday boy doesn’t know that Skylar is invited, so it will be a big surprise for him when Skylar joins them. How fun! AND – she asked if Skylar could spend the night. This would be his first sleepover IF he goes through with it. He has never spent a night away from home without one of his parents. At first he was excited about it. The more he thought about it (obsessed over it) the more he was thinking that he didn’t want to do it. I packed his pillow, sleeping bag, Shamu, and his alarm clock. (the kid is afraid of not waking up…where oh where does he get his neurosis from? Oh, um, wait… nevermind.)
We may be getting a call to come and pick him up… hopefully it’s before 10:45pm, because the husband works tonight and we only have one working car.
