Foxes at the Theater
Imagine the coincidence… all of our husbands decided to get us tickets to see Legally Blonde on the VERY SAME DAY! And… if that wasn’t cool enough – we were all sitting next to each other! Are they good or what?
So – on a Saturday afternoon we met here:
I had never been there before – but hope to go back many, many times. The theater is beautiful & has an amazing history.
We arrived (only had to circle the block once) and got ready to see a great show! It was terrific! The cast was talented and the show was awesome!
Me and the girls… only one blonde in the bunch! After the show, Jamie, Robin and I went to dinner in this neighborhood - which was really cool. We found a neat place with some of the best people watching ever and enjoyed some Southern cooking. (shrimp and grits - yum!)
What a great way to spend a Saturday – blonde or not.

Was that a challenge?
Jen-Jen suggested that I take part in Ali Edwards’ Weekend Creative. Even though she simply suggested that I do it, I kinda felt like I had been challenged. (Jen-Jen is great at getting our creative juices flowing!) The competitive (sick) part of me kicked in… which meant that I HAD to do it. (I know, I know – there’s something really wrong with me.)
Anyway…here’s what I came up with:
It’s not quite all nice and neat and symmetric. Okay – it’s no where near all nice and neat and symmetric. We all know how much I hate measuring, well, anything. However, I did measure (sort of) the photos. When I say “measure,” I mean that I cut the photo so I could get them on the page & then cut all the other photos to that same width and height.
I probably should have also measured exactly how the photos were going to fit across the page in an even sort of way. I kinda missed that part & therein lies the problem. Notice the double lines? Yeah. A mistake. Trying to figure it out was making my hair hurt. So then I had to repeat it to make it look like I did it on purpose. After that, putting the photos *in* the squares wasn’t going to work… so, that’s why they’re all willy-nilly and askew. (no measuring or having to line anything up that way – whew – more my style)
From now on I’m going to focus on layouts that involve LESS math.
Like this easy-peasy-super-simple one:
No Math – No Measuring – Not much of anything… as a matter of fact.
Hmmm…maybe I can find a middle ground somewhere. (as long as there isn’t any long division)

Mimosas & Friends

Two of the best ways to spend a Sunday!
I would be the not-so-smart one who forgot her camera. (this photo and the one from the previous post were taken with my phone) And I mean, I forgot it… as in it’s all the way back home in Atlanta. I didn’t bring it with me at all. WTF was I thinking? Oh yeah, that’s right. I was thinking of work and training and not making a complete fool of myself in front of an entire hotel management team… when really I should have been thinking of documenting my day with two of my favorite people in the whole wide world! Stupid, stupid.
Luckily Julie and Jen brought their cameras – and I’m hoping they’ll share their pics with me! (except of all the ones with just ME in them!)
We had brunch (and Mimosas – have I mentioned the mimosas?) at Too-Jay’s and shopped at Ruban Rouge (one of the very best scrapbook stores I’ve ever been to – ever). Then we got a little lost on the way back. Don’t worry – we drove towards the airplanes and made it safe and sound back to the hotel.
It was a great afternoon & it went by much too fast!
I feel like I’ve been saying good-bye a lot lately… and it’s never easy, especially to these two girls!
xoxo

The Magic 8 Ball Never Lies
Busy weekend and week… I leave tomorrow for Florida to teach a leadership class at one of my company’s hotels. Wish me luck. I’m not 100% confident in the material. Plus my Magic 8 Ball said that it probably wouldn’t go well. I wonder what the night dishwasher would say.
However – I will get to spend some time with my girls… and that is the best part of all!

I’ll try to update from the road. Since I’ll be studying like a mad-woman up until the very last moment that I have to start teaching, it is unlikely that I’ll have the time…. unless, of course, I start to procrastinate and pay more attention to blogging and being online instead of studying the material. (that sounds more like me)
‘Cause there’s nothing like winging it when you’re teaching material to people who could impact your future with the company!
Okay… think positive-confident-anti-career-suicide thoughts.
I wonder if I can get a Magic 8 Ball into an airport approved ziploc bag. (it has liquid in it, you know)

We don’t take it for granite.
Ba dum bump… ching!
(stole Lew’s joke there… that’s what I did)
We visited Stone Mountain yesterday with Marti & her crew. Did you know that Stone Mountain is the most visited attraction in the state of Georgia? Yessiree. Why? Because it’s GEORGIA.
Anywho.
We had a fun hanging out at The Great Barn. We threw fruit at each other and took goofy pictures. Marti and I figured out how to look super-skinny:

Don’t we look awesome? (the secret: lipstick)
After the barn we rode the tram (not to be confused with the box of death) to the top of the mountain.

Don’t our legs and feet look awesome? (again, lipstick) And yes, I am that pasty white in real life.
We enjoyed the views including: making sure the kids don’t fall off the side, trick-photography, and making fun of people watching.
Our girls? This is how they are the entire time they’re together.

Attached at the hip. Which means that Marti and I pretty much spend the day saying things like, “Ohmigosh they are so cute!” or “Look how cute they are!” and “How cute are they?”
We also tortured the kids with plenty of group pictures. Because if you can’t torture your kids then what’s the point of having them?
This is one of the 137 shots of them standing in that exact spot. Ahhh… parenting.
We got back down the mountain crammed into another tram. Thank goodness none of us are claustrophobic.
Um, nevermind.
We were planning on having a picnic on the lawn, but the rain changed our plans. Instead we had a mini-tailgate party and tried to see how much food we could stuff in our faces before the rain started.
The answer: A lot.

She shralped us. Big time.
(Thank you, Urban Dictionary “Word-of-the-Day”)
The winner of our weekend full of scraptastic creativity was:

She completed a total of FIFTEEN awesome layouts!
We should’ve known that our spreadsheet-loving-super-organized-friend would smoke us like a cheap cigar.
Congrats sweetie-pie! Fun stuff will be coming your way!

Could I possibly squeak out anymore?
Right now I’m up to ten. I think I’m tied with Jules. Here’s what I’ve been up to since this morning:

Finally Fall (our first Fall season… ever)

Good Tip (the sign says “Danger Stay Back”)

You Might Be a Rock Star (all of us enjoying the Hannah Montana wig that Mack got at a birthday party)
and here are the four I did yesterday:

Girls (Mack & Ashley in matching HSM shirts)

Halloween (Obi-wan & an HSM Cheerleader)

I’m not sure I have any pages left in me tonight… or this month, for that matter. We’ll see… it *is* almost bedtime.
