This really, really bugs me. A lot.
Exxon Mobil: Biggest Profit in U.S. History
Why did I have to pay $4.39 a gallon for gas this month? Can someone explain this to me please?

Why aren’t you watching?
You MUST watch this show. It’s smart, dramatic, really good-looking, sexy, cool… and did I mention it’s good-looking?
See what I mean about good-looking?
There’s no denying that the people are sexy & good-looking (Jon Hamm makes me swoon)… but so are the clothes, the sets, the colors… it’s a feast for the eyes!
The story is dramatic and oh-so-good. Last night I watched the Season Finale and it was excellent. And guess what? The episodes are On Demand so you can watch them anytime and get caught up! Come on people – I need someone to talk with me about this show! Don’t let me down!
Since that show has ended for now… I’m currently getting sucked in (no pun intended) to this show:
I’ve seen two episodes of this one so far (thanks to my sisters & yes Jamie they are also On Demand) and wowza… I forgot just how different series on HBO are these days. This show is dark, scary, and definitely sexy. Who knew that vampires could be so HOT?!
Anyway… that’s what I’ve been up to. (because I have nothing better to do, you know)
I love TV.

I could totally rock this.
I mean, I wouldn’t wear the halter top…that’s just crazy. But the ‘fro? Oh yeah.
This one is a favorite… I may have a photo of my Mom with this same hairdo.
This is my Librarian look. Shhhh! Quiet!
Ack! This is the worst one! Who would do this to their hair??!
Oh wait…
Never mind.

Eat More Chicken
I am quite fond of The Big Chicken here in Marietta. I think it’s hysterical & I love living near it. I enjoy it so much that I even did a scrapbook page about it.
Imagine my excitement when I discovered a whole flock of chickens in Marietta Square yesterday! All painted and decorated by local buisnesses.
This one was my favorite – I would love this in my front yard.
(I’d be the envy of all my neighbors! For sure!)

This one is my other favorite… maybe it’s the glasses:
And, of course, another scrapbook page is in order!

It’s a conspiracy, man.
(that’s what my kids say when they talk like “hippies” - because to them, that’s what hippies walk around saying - all the time.)
I stopped for gas yesterday at a station where & paid a measly $2.79 per gallon. That’s right, people… two-freakin-seventy-nine per gallon. Of gas. In America. Jealous?
I thought that maybe the station had a dyslexic number-putter-upper & surely they would realize that this was a mistake. Gas for $2.79? That’s crazy-talk!
I filled up my tank while looking around suspiciously wondering when someone would run out and say – ACK! THAT’S THE WRONG PRICE! HAND OVER YOUR WALLET, LADY!
No one ever did… so I decided to splurge and paid for a car wash.
Even after full tank and the Ultimate Car Wash my bill was less than a couple of weeks ago. That was when I filled up at $4.39 a gallon.
How in the heck did the price of gas go down $1.60 (had to use a calculator for that one… whew) in a few short weeks? That doesn’t make sense. We’re still paying the same for milk, right? I haven’t noticed the price of bread, avocados, movie tickets, shoes &/or wine going down at all. (and believe me, I checked on the wine…and okay, the shoes too.)
Right before I paid $4.39 for a freakin’ gallon of gas, I could barely find gas ANYWHERE. This is what we were dealing with in the huge commuter city of Atlanta:
and this:
No gas. Anywhere. It had a lot of people panicking and even running out of gas while waiting for gas. I thought I had slipped through the space-time continuum and back into the 1970s. (where I was a wee-babe, thankyouverymuch)
If you did happen to find a station that was actually selling gas, you’d see this:
That line went on for about a half a mile. Ridiculous.
After pumping the $2.79 gas into my car, I felt like YES! I WON! I had gotten one over on those big evil oil companies! GO ME!
I realized that I shouldn’t be HAPPY about gas at $2.79 a gallon. That is still TOO HIGH. Someone tricked me into thinking that $2.79 was a reasonable amount to pay for gas…and it almost worked! But it’s not reasonable. It’s NOT. Dammit.
That was when I gave the gas station a hair flip. (don’t piss me off or I might hair flip you too – I’m crazy like that)
And then I sat through my $6.00 car wash.

Fourteen in all.
All the cousins & grown-ups got together at Berry Patch Farms - one of our favorite places to visit in the Fall. And it was a BEAUTIFUL day to be there!
A hayride out to the pumpkin patch. (we took up almost the entire trailer – a family army)
I love this photo – everyone wandering through the pumpkin patch. It makes me happy.
All the kids in one picture - sitting still long enough for us to snap a few photos - amazing!
The first time we visited this farm my two kids were 1 & 3 years old – now they are the oldest of the cousin bunch.
I know my Mom was smiling – seeing all of us together. This is what I dreamed about – having my kids grow up with their cousins and aunts & uncles – something I never had. I know my sisters & sister-in-law feel the same way.
A good day.
You can see more photos here: Atlanta Keith Family
Oh – and we were wondering if my sister’s kids were somehow related to my sister-in-laws kids… I was told that they’re “once removed” from each other. So, kinda related. Is that right?

October Serendipity
The new kit is up at Serendipity Kits & the projects are really terrific! Check them all out HERE for some inspiration – then pick a kit for yourself!
Here’s what I’ve done with the kit:
I plan on taking LOTS of photos this Halloween. (I know, how is that different from any other Halloween?) This will be the first Halloween in a long time that I’ll be spending it with my sisters… along with my sister-in-law and brother-in-law. My kids will be surrounded by their cousins and almost all their aunts and uncles. How cool is that?
I’m still amazed that we now have so much family so close together. I can’t wait to celebrate! And – thanks to Milissa’s awesome kit, my album is ready and waiting!
